Coins, Cards, Collector Cars, and Collectibles!
Thanks for reading The Attic Capital Newsletter - discovering, pondering, sharing… and hopefully inspiring the next generation of collectors.
Three Things -
You could read about rare coins, sports cards, and cool collectibles all day long - but right now I only have three things for you to consider.
#1 - Rare Shipwreck Silver
I’ve seen a lot of rare coin auctions, and they rarely include items like this. Heritage Auctions has a silver bar recovered from the famous Atocha Shipwreck.
The 11.20 troy ounce Atocha silver bar was aboard The Nuestra Senora de Atocha, carrying huge amounts of treasure from Havana. The ship was bound for Spain in 1622 when it was sunk by a massive hurricane in the Florida Keys.
Current bid for the silver bar sits at $32,000, with the live auction beginning September 3rd.
#2 - One Thousand Dollar Bill
Here’s your chance to own a very rare one thousand dollar bill. Perhaps the most rare thousand dollar bill in existence.
Just one of four of it’s kind. The 1880 Series bill features New York State Senator DeWitt Clinton in the middle, and Christopher Columbus on the left.
The bill is just one of two in private hands, with the third bill resting at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and the fourth bill secured at the Smithsonian.
The ultra-rare bill is selling right now on eBay, with an opening price of $1,499,999. Place your bid!
#3 - Collectibles Market Growth
Sales in the collectibles market is predicted to reach $1 trillion by 2033. A recent research report by Market Decipher analyzed dozens of categories in the collectible market and forecasts strong growth in all segments.
For example, sales of comic books are forecasted to go from sales of $15.3 billion to $22.4 billion by 2030. And they predict the coin collection market to go from $8.7 billion in 2022, to $20.9 billion by 2031.
