#56-Creating the Pagani Hypercar
"During work hours, I had to make a living. Therefore I was working on the car at night, early in the morning, and on the weekends. That's how the Zonda was born." -Horacio Pagani
Hope you are having a great week!
I’m searching for the world's greatest collectibles, and exploring the journey of history's greatest creators.
Here’s a few things I’ve learned over the last few days -
#1 - The Amazing Creators Story of Horacio Pagani
A humble car designer from a small town in the middle of Argentina.
Stumbled on a magazine with a quote from Leonardo da Vinci at age 13.
Gets hired at Lamborghini, job offer is pulled before he can start work, shows up at Lamborghini's doorstep anyway.
Insists his employer buy an autoclave to make car parts, they decline, they tell him to get back to work. He rides his bike to the bank and gets a loan for his own autoclave, rents a warehouse.
And this is just the beginning, You couldn't even make up a better car creators story...
#2 - Rare Gold Coins
Coming Soon:
I’m working on my next episode right now, and it’s all about the amazing story of gold coins in the United States.
I can’t wait to share this cool story, and the amazing events that led to the creation of gold coinage nearly 200 years ago.
What I’m discovering is - a few of the amazing coin collectors who I’ve talked about in earlier episodes were right in the middle of the gold coin story as well!
There’s no doubt about it - history’s greatest coin collectors were a very smart and studious group!
Here’s a few of my earlier coin episodes, I hope you give them a try -
#3 - The Legend of Honus Wagner
I had a great time learning about the legendary ball player, Honus Wagner.
I thought I knew why he refused to have his baseball card printed by the American Tobacco Company. (And in the process creating the ‘Holy Grail’ of baseball cards, the Honus Wagner T-206)
But it turns out, just like always, there was much more to this story…
And along the way, I found out Honus Wagner was a real-life folk hero, respected by all. A loyal, hometown hero, who lived humbly, but was, at the same time, larger than life.
"He was a gentle, kind man, a storyteller, supportive of rookies, patient with the fans, cheerful in hard times, careful of the example he set for youth, a hard worker, a man who had no enemies and who never forgot his friends. He was the most beloved man in baseball before Ruth."
- Baseball historian Bill James

And that’s where it really starts to get fun… The amazing people who were driven to create. Against all the odds - to leave their mark.
My goal is to keep the creators story alive, share the most important concepts and lessons, and inspire the next generation of great creators…
Let me know what stories you would like to hear next, I’d love any suggestions.
Please subscribe and share this with someone who might enjoy it - my goal is to inspire them to want to - learn more!
